Windjana Gorge National Park is a national park in the Kimberley region of north western Australia. The sheer walls of the Windjana Gorge are the remains of a large barrier reef that grew at this location approximately 350 million years ago when this land was covered by a tropical sea. The rock walls of up to 100m / 330ft high now make up for some of the most spectacular landscapes of the Kimberley.
In this photograph you can see a typical Kimberley landscape with boab trees and the rock wall of Windjana on the left.
