The Great Ocean Road is a well known stretch of road along the southern coast of Victoria, Australia. Along the road there are several prominent natural coastal landmarks that draw many visitors to the region each year. The limestone stack formations of the Twelve Apostles enjoy great international fame, but there are many more spectacular rock formations just outside the coast.
This stretch of coast is ever changing due to rough nature of the ocean. High winds and pounding waves slowly eat away from the bases of the fragile rock stacks. Every so often the weakest rock stacks collapse and the views once again
The rock formation seen in London's Arch was once known as the London's Bridge, a double-span natural bridge. Until january 1990 the arch was connected to the mainland by another arch, but on january 15th 1990 the first arch collapsed.
