Along the Stuart Highway, right in the middle of the Northern Territory, another important spiritual site can be found: the Devil's Marbles, or Karlu Karlu to the Aboriginal traditional owners.
Scattered in a wide valley are gigantic, near perfectly round granite boulders. Over billions of years what were originally large granite slabs are exposed to water. Small cracks in the granite are weathered out and the boulders are what's left now. A spectacular, otherworldly landscape formed by the forces of nature.
This photographes was taken just after sunset when the marbles seems to be aglow.
