The Pinnacles Desert is an area with limestone formations in the Nambung National Park on the west coast of Western Australia, about 250km / 155mi north of Perth. Stretching over a great distance the country is filled with fascinating pinnacles, some up to 4m / 13ft tall. A bizarre landscape. The first Europeans in the area thought they had stumbled upon to be the remains of an ancient civilication. The pinnacles however are all naturally sculpted by rain and wind, but up until this date it is unclear how exactly the pinnacles were formed.
