Kata Tjuta

Uluru - Kata Tjuta, Australia

At only a 25km / 16mi distance from the world famous Uluru lies Kata Tjuta. A group of 36 large domes covering an area of nearly 22 sq km / 8.5 sq mi. The highest dome, Mount Olga, is 546 m / 1791 ft above the surrounding landscape. With that it's even higher than Uluru.

Kata Tjuta is another highly spiritual site in the area as many Aboriginal Dreamtime legends are associated with the place. This photograph was taken just after sunset.
