Playa Canoa is a small community north of Willemstad, connected to the city by a rundown potholed road. A favourite spot among surfers on the island when long waves are rolling in from the sea. The small sandy beach of Playa Canoa is one of the very few places on the north shore of Curaçao where it's safe to dip in the water.
This image was photographed at sunset at the end of a day with intermittent tropical rain showers. Humid air and big clouds in the sky created a beautiful light display when the sun was setting in the opposite direction.
