Through the Forest

Otway Ranges, Australia

While the coast in south-west Victoria owes most fame to the well known Great Ocean Road, there is more to be seen in this region than the spectacular coastline. The magnificent Otway Ranges stretch out a little land inwards. These ranges are covered with a dense temperate rainforest, cut through by wild rivers and high waterfalls.

This region is one of the wettest of all of Australia. Due to the hills of the Otway Ranges large stretches rarely see any direct sunlight. A perfect environment for rainforest fauna.

The river you see in Through the Forest is the runoff of the beautiful Beauchamp Falls, photographed in the oposite direction of the falls.
