For me this image is a good example of why you should really spend some time on getting to know a location before you go to visit it. We were driving through the Glencoe area when this beautiful rainbow suddenly appeared behind us. I knew this cottage was nearby and figured the rainbow was exactly in the direction that it would appear right above the cottage. It was only a matter of driving to the location and hoping that the rainbow would still be there on arrival.
Of course you always need a little bit of luck, but good knowledge of the region and some sense of direction is essential to get the best shots. Google maps, satellite and streetview really is your best friend when preparing your next photo trip :).
